The 5th annual "Walk ’n Roll for Animals" will take place Saturday along the Trunk Road bike path.

The event is put on by Advocates for Dog and Puppy Wellness. The goal is to raise funds for the Mat-Su Animal Shelter and raise awareness for shelter animals.

The 5K walk starts and ends at the Park and Ride located on South Trunk Road by the Mat-Su Regional Hospital. The walk starts at 10 a.m. but come early and visit the food and animal booths.

Registration is $35 for adults and includes a t-shirt for you and a bandana for your pet. Animals and children under 12 are free.

In addition to the booths at the start/finish area, there will be “waterhole” stops along the trail for you and your furry friend providing water, treats and information.

You can register at the event or online on their Facebook page.
