Watch out, drivers! A Benson Boulevard sinkhole has prompted lane closures until at least next week.

Anchorage Police dispatchers said Benson's left two lanes remained closed early Friday between Lois and Minnesota Drives.

A video from KTVA viewer Dan Bellerive of the sinkhole, which opened Thursday evening, showed a bulldozer pushing most of a dump truck's fill load into the hole -- which still had space for more.

Shannon McCarthy, with the state Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, said the sinkhole -- 5 feet across and 15 feet deep -- had been temporarily filled by Friday morning using recycled asphalt.

A DOTPF crew at the scene was lowering a camera into a nearby manhole to determine where water which washed away the missing material came from.

Barricades were being placed to block two lanes at the sinkhole Friday, McCarthy said, which will remain in place until at least Tuesday as crews investigate.
