University of Alaska Anchorage women's basketball coach Ryan McCarthy has seen a lot of places, both as a player and a head coach -- and he may soon expand that list.

McCarthy and the team have been invited to Taiwan, where they'll take part in the annual BLIA Cup University Basketball Tournament from July 3-8.

It will be the first time the Seawolves have played outside of North America, and McCarthy is ready to go.

"I'm really excited for the ladies because they'll be able to see that part of the world, they'll kind of be able to embrace that culture," McCarthy said. "It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a lot of them, so we're really excited."

It will cost the Seawolves close to $40,000 to take the trip. They have come up with most of the money through fundraisers and private donations.
