Anchorage Police say they have located a vehicle that was involved in a shooting Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to the area of East Northern Lights Boulevard and UAA Drive at 11 a.m. after receiving a call from a driver who said he had been shot, according to a statement from APD.

"Initial indications are that there was some type of altercation between several people," APD wrote. "They got into three different vehicles and began following/chasing each other in traffic."

Police say a "newer-model" gold Hyundai 4-door sedan with the Alaska plate JEN889 was one of the vehicles involved.

"In the area of Lake Otis and Northern Lights, one of the three occupants in the Hyundai fired shots at the other two vehicles," APD wrote. "There are no reports of anyone being shot at this time."

Officers responded to Heritage Center Driver around 4:30 Thursday, after a call from a citizen, where they found the vehicle abandoned and unoccupied on the side of the road. It was impounded as evidence.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is also asked to call 3-1-1.
