Man injured in downtown shooting
Anchorage Police are investigating a shooting in downtown Anchorage Wednesday evening.
Just after 7, police responded to the intersection of 5th Avenue and Gambell after reports of a shooting.
An adult male was found lying on the ground, south of the Wells Fargo, with a single gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital for treatment. His injury is not life-threatening, police say.
Police say they've not determined a motive, nor do they have information about a suspect description.
A business owner told KTVA's crew on scene that shooting started as a fight between homeless people before escalating.
Anyone who may have information about the shooting is asked to call 311.
