The Clean Air Challenge is a bike ride that starts and finishes at the Talkeetna Alaska Lodge and raises money and awareness for the American Lung Association.

"We have a lot of people that do the century ride," said Kirsten Swanson, development manager with the American Lung Association. "But we want to make this for everyone, for every Alaskan; family friendly."

There are several checkpoints along the way with different distance options for riders.

"We have a 60-mile option, 26 miles and 10-mile option," Swanson said. "You get to choose your adventure, choose your experience and we have food at all rest stops too."

All of the money raised goes toward the American Lung Association and its programs like the lung helpline, freedom from smoking, better breathers club and lung cancer research.

The fundraising deadline and bib pickup is Friday, May 4. The Clean Air Challenge is Saturday, May 12 in Talkeetna. To learn more, click here.
