Attempted murder charge for suspect in Sitka stabbing
Sitka Police have put a man behind bars, accused of attempted murder.
Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, officers received a 911 call reporting an adult male was stabbing another man. When officers arrived, Sitka Police spokesperson Serena Wild says they found 29-year-old Anthony Beltran at the home with a knife in his hand.
Beltran was taken into custody without incident.
The victim, a 36-year-old male, was medevaced to Anchorage with multiple stab wounds to his shoulders and back. He has not been identified.
Wednesday, Beltran was charged with first-degree attempted murder. He's held in the Sitka Jail on a $125,000 bond.
