There is a new state law, that as of Thursday, makes it legal to grow hemp.

Governor Walker used a hemp pen to sign Senate Bill 6 into law. It separates hemp from marijuana, defining it as an agricultural crop.

The commissioner of natural resources will be responsible for regulating the industry.

Hemp is a variety of cannabis that produces fiber, but almost no THC, the chemical in marijuana that makes people feel high.
