Puzzled With Purpose and Hope Studios is putting on the Shining Abilities Craft Fair is this weekend. It's a fair that gives Alaskans with special needs a place to show their work and abilities.

Artists will have everything from colorful pipe cleaner creations to jewelry and quilts, all of which are for sale. Anyone with intellectual or developmental disabilities are welcome to take part and share their stories of growth and achievement.

Heidi Lieb-Williams, the event's organizer, says it helps people with disabilities prove they can make a difference.

"There is some amazing talents that we all have, and I wanted to showcase that," she explained. "I wanted to change the community's minds and job employers, that we're hirable, there are things that we can do and we can function in society and we do have things to offer."

Lieb-Williams has her own crafts that she brings to the fair from her store Puzzled With Purpose where she makes many things including quilts and superhero capes.

She hopes everyone can stop by and see what they have to offer.

The event is at Sears Mall this Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
