AFD Assistant Chief Alex Boyd said AFD was called to the Stephens Park Apartments located on the 3200 block of Latouche Street at 7:28 a.m. for a reported fire. The first unit out of the 18 that responded arrived on scene at 7:32 a.m.

The fire started in one unit on the third floor, however, other units were also damaged.

"At least six units were either smoke, water or fire damaged," said AFD Capt. John Booher.

One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The building is not considered a total loss, Boyd said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
