Anchorage Police are investigating a shooting that sent a man with an outstanding warrant to the hospital with injuries. The suspect is still at large, authorities say.

According to a statement from APD, the shooting happened overnight on the 1400 block of West 27th Avenue Wednesday. Just before 4:30 a.m., police were alerted that a man was sent to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. 

Detectives believe the shooting was targeted and there is no threat to the public. 

The victim's warrant was for an escape.

Police had no further details to add including suspect information.
