Step Afrika! is the first professional company dedicated to the tradition of stepping, which blends percussion and dance. They're performing live in Anchorage, and are also hosting workshops to teach the art of stepping.

They gave us a preview performance of what's in store for their live show.

"We have been doing this for 23 years, really everywhere, all over the world," said Step Afrika! Founder, C. Brian WIlliams. "It's a rich tradition and we have been exploring it in many multifaceted ways for so long."

On Tuesday, March 20, Step Afrika! will host a step dance class with the Underground Dance Company at 6 p.m.

Also on Tuesday will be a community potluck dinner, also with the Underground Dance Company.

On Wednesday, March 21, at 4 p.m. will be a library dance demonstration at the Mountain View Public Library.

Friday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. is their public show, which is great for all ages. That show will be at the Atwood Concert Hall.
