Anchorage Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run that happened Sunday night in Mountain View, authorities say.

APD spokesperson MJ Thim said just after 10:30 p.m. a caller reported seeing a man lying in the road at the intersection of Commercial Drive and Mountain View Drive.

Thim said there may have been one or two vehicles that possibly struck the victim.

According to a Nixle alert sent out at 11:02 p.m., the eastbound lanes of the intersection were closed due to a traffic investigation. Thim said the intersection was closed for about seven hours.

Police are now looking for a gold Chrysler Town and Country van they say may have been in the area at the time of the incident; the passengers or driver may have seen what happened. Thim said the van is not considered a suspect vehicle.

APD's Traffic Unit is investigating.

Anyone with information on the incident or may have surveillance video of the area is asked to contact Dispatch at 907-786-8900 or you can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP.
