A vehicle-pedestrian crash temporarily closed southbound lanes of Muldoon Road at DeBarr Road, police said Wednesday afternoon.

Police spokeswoman Renee Oistad said the extent of the pedestrian’s injuries wasn’t immediately clear.

“The call came in at 3:15; it was an adult male pedestrian,” Oistad said. “We had multiple callers.”

The witnesses all told police that "the pedestrian intentionally jumped into traffic," Oistad wrote in an email.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment, Oistad said, and was expected to survive his injuries. The driver, who was among the people to contact police, stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.

Muldoon fully reopened to traffic at about 4 p.m.
