As the spring equinox approaches, we have a unique way for you to beat the cabin fever on this Travel Tuesday: beer and bore tides.

"Beer and bore tides have one thing in common, Alaska's unique waters," said Julie Saupe, President and CEO of Visit Anchorage. "While one seeks out the pristine waters found in our tributaries to create the perfect pint, the other relies on the volatility of the tides to create the perfect wave."

March 20 signals the spring equinox and the return of bore tides strong enough to surf -- although the act should be left to experienced surfers of Alaskan water.

To help enjoy the changing of the season, Anchorage is ripe with locations to acquire delicious, locally made beers.
