Proposition 10:

The proposed sale of Municipal Light & Power to Chugach Electric for roughly $1 billion is up for final approval by Anchorage voters after Mayor Ethan Berkowitz asked the Assembly to put Chugach’s December offer on the ballot. Berkowitz has said that Chugach presented a “competitive price” for muni-owned ML&P, an offer Chugach still backs after a confidential report valued ML&P at about $700 million to $1.1 billion. Five other bidders for ML&P have since emerged under public records requests; Berkowitz says all were aware the election placed an “accelerated time frame” on the deal.
