A water main break south of Anchorage's Rogers Park neighborhood left motorists seeking alternative routes over the weekend.

The eastbound lanes of 36th Avenue from MacInnes Street to Lake Otis Parkway were closed at 8 p.m. Friday and were expected to remain closed through 11 p.m. Sunday. However, Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility finished performing a repair excavation on a 12-inch main that broke on Tuesday a little early, prompting the road to reopen around 5 p.m Saturday.
