House Rep. David Guttenberg (D-Fairbanks) was rushed to the hospital with an unknown medical condition, a House Majority spokesman said.

Guttenberg was in a House Finance Committee meeting when he stepped out and walked to his office under his own power, said spokesman Michael Mason.

Mason said Guttenberg was being evaluated at Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau.

He said Guttenberg was talking and his good spirits before getting into an ambulance.

By late afternoon, Guttenberg was still being evaluated and was awaiting results of lab tests.
