Today many kids see delivering newspapers and working the lawn for cash as "old-fashioned." Since more than 70 percent of teens have access to a smartphone, a startup wants to use the technology to put young people to work in the so-called "gig economy."

For this week's Workforce Wednesday, Daybreak took a look at an app called "Skratch" that's helping teens find odd jobs known as gigs.

So far the app is only available in Texas but has plans to expand to other states.
