Bethel HS students plan walkout over school shootings
By Christine Trudeau, KYUK
Bethel Regional High School seniors are organizing a walk-out in solidarity with the victims of the Parkland shooting in Florida, according to KYUK.
They plan to meet on BRHS’s boardwalk at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in front of the high school.
Student organizer Kelly O’Brian says that this is also about advocating against gun violence, and that the walkout is a “peaceful protest for stricter gun laws and regulations.”
O’Brian and other students organizing the protest have informed teachers, peers, and the entire senior class of BRHS. Teachers that they've spoken with support it, says O’Brian.
