Fur Rondy snow sculptures start to take shape
Fur Rondy officially kicks off on Friday but some people are already hard at work.
For participants in the State Snow Sculpting Competition, the clock is ticking. The judging takes place this Sunday.
At the Ship Creek lot, sculptors are just starting to transform their 8-by 8-foot blocks of snow into imaginative creations. Many said they plan to work every day until the judging and the public is welcome to come watch.
Sculptors will be at it from 10 a.m. till 10 p.m. or later.
The judging is Sunday, Feb. 25, starting at 10 a.m., with an awards ceremony to follow at noon.
