The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation is reporting a spill at the Valdez Marine Terminal.

According to a report from the DEC, the spill happened at the Berth 5, Valdez Marine Terminal; it appears to be less than 200 gallons of crude from the Alaska North Slope.

"There was some spray to water but no sheen on water has been observed," the report said.

The spill was discovered by a worker on Saturday morning who was doing routine rounds.

"Berth 5 is boomed. Skimming vessels have been deployed to the site," DEC said.

The cause of the spill is under investigation. Future plans include cleaning up the existing spill site and continue monitoring the situation.

The report says they believe crude leaked from loading arms into containment, and there's no impact on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.
