The 2018 Alaska Brain Bee, an academic competition for high schoolers interested in learning more about neurosciences, is set to kick off.

Organizers, Rachael Hannah, a professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage, and Jessica Reisinger, a former Alaska Brain Bee winner, joined Daybreak on Tuesday to talk about what's in store for this year's event: how to sign up and what the winner receives.

The Alaska Brain Bee takes place Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Anchorage Museum. Registration is open to any high school student. The winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Baltimore, Maryland for the national competition.
