Chugiak's Chase ready for the next level
Monday was a good day for another Alaskan scholar-athlete. Chugiak senior Allison Chase signed her national letter of intent with Skagit Community College in Washington. She'll pursue the field of physical or school therapy. She's also considering a career as an emergency medical technician.
"My decision was pretty easy. I really like the coach, we connected on a good level," she said. "It just felt right. They offered me part of a scholarship and I thought that was good."
Allison had other offers. The University of Alaska, Fairbanks made an overture as did a handful of Division II and III schools. But in the end, she felt a two year school in the Lower 48 was the best option right now.
"I'm excited to experience things outside of Alaska," said Allison.
