Five people were taken into custody in connection with two robberies in the Mountain View and Russian Jack Park neighborhoods early Friday morning.

Around 2:45 a.m., Anchorage Police were called the area of Bragaw Street and Richmond Avenue on reports of a robbery. According to MJ Thim, spokesperson for APD, an adult female was robbed by four suspects who then fled in a dark SUV with a loud muffler.

The suspect vehicle was located at the Tesoro at Northern Lights Boulevard and the Seward Highway and officers attempted a traffic stop but Thim says the driver attempted to flee and struck a gas pump. Officers pinned in the vehicle, keeping it from fleeing. The driver and passengers were taken into custody.

Keith Wilson, 54, Sheila Wilson, 43, and Sarah Orazio, 36, were each charged with second-degree robbery.

The driver, 37-year-old Steven Thomas, was also charged with second-degree robbery but faces additional charges of criminal mischief and resisting arrest. APD says Thomas also had multiple outstanding warrants for failure to appear, one of which was out of Juneau.

About a half hour after the initial report, APD learned a taxi driver had been robbed at gunpoint in the 3900 block of East 8th Avenue in the Russian Jack Park neighborhood.

A K-9 unit was called to assist in the search for the suspect, who officers tracked down in the 4200 block of San Roberto Avenue.

Thim says 18-year-old Timothy Hansen was charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree assault.
