Sheldon Chalet will open to guests next month -- one family’s Denali dream that took three generations to realize. It all began with a homestead claim, filed by the legendary pilot Don Sheldon, on a five-acre piece of land near the summit of Denali, the tallest mountain peak in North America.

KTVA’s Rhonda McBride talks with his son, Robert, and his wife Marne, about some of the challenges they had to overcome to build a luxury lodge perched on a 6,000-foot mountain, surrounded by a national wilderness park.
