Anchorage police arrested a suspect early Thursday in a gunpoint carjacking in Muldoon, just minutes after the crime was reported.

Officers were initially called at about 2:30 a.m. to the parking lot of the Holiday gas station at Muldoon Road and Duben Avenue, according to APD spokesman MJ Thim.

The victim, who had been at the wheel of a white 2011 Toyota Yaris, told police that a woman forced him “out of his vehicle at gunpoint in the parking lot.” He also told police the vehicle’s last direction of travel, leading to its recovery in Mountain View.

“An officer with the Patrol Division quickly located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Meyer Street and arrested the suspect,” Thim wrote. “From the time the victim called 911 to the time the officer made the arrest was less than seven minutes.”

The suspect, 24-year-old Lily Pogi, was arrested on charges of first-degree vehicle theft and robbery.
