Anchorage police have arrested a man on attempted-murder in a Monday shooting which left two people wounded.

Traffic officers in Muldoon shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday spotted a 2001 Chevrolet Impala believed to be associated with the 45th Court shooting, police spokesman MJ Thim said, in which a man and a woman were struck at about 3 a.m. Monday. The woman’s injuries were life-threatening.

A traffic stop was made on the Impala, and three people – including 42-year-old driver Jesus Mabalot – were initially taken into custody from the sedan.

“The passengers were released,” Thim wrote. “The driver was identified as the suspect in this investigation, arrested and transported to jail.”

Nothing further on the case was immediately available Thursday morning, Thim said.

Mabalot was held on two counts of attempted murder and held at the Anchorage Jail.
