A man who police say suffers from mental health issues hadn't been seen since last Friday was located Thursday afternoon.

ouglas Caudy, 28, was last seen around 8 a.m. on Friday, December 8, according to Anchorage Police.

APD spokesperson Renee Oistad says Caudy has gone missing in the past but has never been out of contact with family for this length of time.

Oistad says due to previous behaviors and statements, there is concern that Caudy may cause harm to himself.

Caudy is described as a white male standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 190 pounds; he has brown hair and brown eyes. Police believe he's driving a white 1997 Nissan Pathfinder with AK tags "GBT714".

He grew up in the Denali and area and may return there, Oistad says.

Shortly after APD asked for the public's help in locating Caudy, he was located safe.
