Anchorage police called in a SWAT team Tuesday night to deal with a situation on Anchorage's east side, taking a man into custody following a shots-fired call.

Police said early Wednesday that Jeffrey Cosgrove, 35, was charged with misconduct involving a weapon in the incident.

Around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, APD was called to a residence in the 1700 block of Russian Jack Drive in response to a male firing shots from the window of his home.

Renee Oistad, APD spokesperson, says officers on scene were unable to establish verbal contact with the suspect, prompting the call for SWAT.

The suspect was taken into custody "without further incident" by 11 p.m., police spokeswoman Nora Morse said in a statement. She wasn't able to provide further details late Tuesday.

No injuries were reported.

The 1700 block of Russian Jack had been shut down during the incident, with motorists and pedestrians asked to avoid the area.
