Celebrities are not immune to brushes with the law. Unfortunately for them, their celebrity only intensifies scrutiny, and the scenarios surrounding their arrests playout in the public sphere for all to consume. And 2017 was no different. Here's a look at some of the notable celebrity arrests of 2017.
The singer was arrested over the summer in Georgia, accused of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.
A former The Bachelor star, Chris Soules, was arrested in April of 2017 for allegedly leaving the scene of a fatal car crash involving a tractor and Soules' pickup truck. He was charged with felony hit-and-run in May, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
The Elf actor was jailed in March following an incident at an Ohio airport. Authorities claim Love got into an argument with a man then assaulted him at baggage claim.
You may recognize him from Deadliest Catch. The former reality TV star caught more than fish during an arrest in Phoenix this year on drug possession charges. Authorities said Harris was found to be in possession of Xanax and crystal meth.
The Twin Peaks actor is accused of beating his girlfriend with a bat in Spokane earlier this year. He faces multiple charges, including attempted murder.

The Longmire actor apparently asked a cop for directions in Portland-- while he was drunk. That same cop booked him for DWI.
The well-known crooner was busted with marijuana at the U.S./Candian border earlier this year. She accepted a plea agreement, which meant no jail time, and was able to avoid drug testing because the judge recognized the fact Etheridge has a medical marijuana card in California.
Best known as Santana Lopez from Glee, Naya Rivera was charged with domestic battery against her husband in November of this year-- just weeks before filing for divorce.
The Country Grammar rapper was arrested in October on suspicion of rape in Washington state. He has maintained his innocence, taking to Twitter to say he was "shocked" to be a target of false allegations.
Rose McGowan has made headlines for lots of reasons this year, perhaps most notably for her allegations against now-disgraced media mogul Harvey Weinstein. But, McGowan was also in the news after reportedly leaving her wallet behind on a United Airlines flight-- in which authorities allege they found cocaine. She's pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Another Deadliest Catch star makes the list this year: Sig Hansen, the celebrity crab boat captain, was charged with assault in Seattle earlier this year for allegedly spitting on an Uber driver during a dispute.
And, adding to his lengthy rap sheet, actor Shia LaBeouf was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness following an incident over a cigarette in Georgia.
