Southcentral Alaska received a wake-up call early Tuesday from an earthquake centered closed to Alaska’s largest city.

Alaska Earthquake Center data listed the 5:45 a,m. quake, with an initial magnitude of 4.0 revised upward to a 4.2, as centered 7 miles west of Chugiak at a depth of 11.2 miles.

Dozens of people, many of them in Wasilla, reported feeling the temblor on the U.S. Geological Survey’s Did You Feel It? website.
