Anchorage Police are investigating a shooting at a Spenard hotel that sent one man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Sunday night.

APD spokesperson MJ Thim said at 9:02, a caller reported a shooting at the Alex Hotel located at 4613 Spenard Road.

When police arrived they found an adult male who was shot inside a room. He was then taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives believe the shooting was drug-related, not random.

There is no suspect information to release at this time, Thim said.
