The state of Alaska may not be known for producing top-level football talent, but times are changing.

On Friday night, USC defeated Stanford, becoming the first Pac-12 South school to win the conference championship. Dimond High School alum and true freshman Brandon Pili helped anchor the Trojans defensive line.

Today, Pili and number 8 USC found out they are heading to the Cotton Bowl on December 30 to take on Big Ten champion Ohio State.

Also bowl bound, West Anchorage High alum Lui Fa'amasino and New Mexico State. The Aggies will meet the Aggies as they're matched up with Utah State in the Arizona Bowl on December 29.

Fa'amasino, a junior linebacker, is helping New Mexico State make history, as they haven't been invited to a bowl game since 1960.

History is being made in Alaska, as well, as two young men are representing the 49th State on college football's largest stage-- bowl season.
