APD: 3 sought in Muldoon homicide investigation
Anchorage Police say they're looking for three males who may be able to help them solve an east Anchorage homicide investigation.
APD spokesperson MJ Thim said the males are in their late teens or early 20's and were last seen walking on 6th Avenue towards Turpin Street. Two of them were wearing backpacks-- one wearing red high-top shoes. The male without the backpack was wearing an orange hat.
According to the preliminary investigation, a group of people got into an altercation on the 7000 block of Haward Avenue. At some point, the victim, Brandon Irlmeier, 20, was shot.
Police spokeswoman Nora Morse said a call came in just after 10:40 p.m. reporting “two men with guns”. Orion Lind, 21, was taken in for questioning.
“When officers responded they found one adult male dead from at least one gunshot wound at East 6th (Avenue) and Oklahoma Street,” Morse wrote. “One person from the scene was taken into police custody for questioning.”
Lind was not arrested in this investigation, however, he wasn't released because he had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation and was transported to jail.
APD says the shooting was not random; it was isolated.
