Man’s death at Fairbanks home ‘suspicious,’ police say
Fairbanks police are investigating a suspicious death at a local home Tuesday morning.
Police initially received a report just before 6:15 a.m. Tuesday of a bleeding, unconscious man at a home in the area of South Cushman Street, according to a statement from police spokeswoman Yumi McCulloch.
“FPD officers and [Fairbanks Fire Department] paramedics arrived and found the victim was deceased,” McCulloch wrote. “The circumstances appear to be suspicious and FPD Investigations is actively working the incident.”
McCulloch identified the deceased as 43-year-old John Thomas Preshaw.
McCulloch said police weren’t discussing any details regarding who reported the death or how the victim appeared to have died.
“There doesn’t appear to be any kind of public-safety issue,” McCulloch said.
Fairbanks police are also investigating a woman’s Monday death in a possible stabbing, following a fight between two females at the Alaska Motel on the 1500 block of South Cushman. McCulloch didn’t have any updates on that case Tuesday morning.
