AST: Unresponsive man sent to hospital after spending hours under truck in snow
Alaska State Troopers say a Willow man was rushed to the hospital after he was found unresponsive under a vehicle in a ditch.
Troopers say they responded to mile 39 of Willow Fishhook Road after a caller reported the incident just before 9 p.m. on Saturday. When AST and emergency crews arrived, they found 58-year-old Keith Preston Stephens under his 2006 Ford F250.
Preliminary investigation shows Stephens drove into the ditch. When he opened the door to get out, he slipped and fell into the snow underneath the truck.
He was flown to Providence Medical Center in Anchorage with suspected life-threatening injuries due to the hours he spent outside in sub-zero temperatures, troopers say.
The incident is under investigation.
