AFD extinguishes fire at Mountain View home
Anchorage firefighters responded to a fire at a vacant home in Mountain View early Thursday, safely putting it out.
AFD Assistant Chief Alex Boyd said crews were called to the 4000 block of Parsons Street just after 5:20 a.m. Eleven units arrived at the scene and found a working fire.
“Initial reports from the caller were that this was an unoccupied structure,” Boyd said. “There were no reports of injuries to residents or responders.”
Photos of the fire, taken by KTVA viewer Warrene Kaihealani Mahoe, showed multiple fire engines near the burning home.
Two additional units were sent to support the first responders in bringing the blaze under control, Boyd said.
The cause of the fire, as well as the extent of damage to the home, were still under investigation Thursday morning.
