On this Travel Tuesday, we take a look at a trend called "skip gen" trips, where grandparents and grandkids go on a vacation and leave the parents at home. Daybreak was joined by Anita Nelson with Visit Anchorage.

Alaska is one of the most popular destinations to plan a "skip gen" trip, and Anita believes it is because the state has an abundance of things to see and do that appeal to a wide range of ages, which is something you would be working with on a "skip gen" vacation. Alaska is also a bucket-list location and a great place to plan a milestone celebration.

Anita says that a "skip gen" trip can be a great way to build togetherness in far away places.
