Swimmer shows winning is about more than coming in first
Adam Nguyen did not win any titles during the 2018 ASAA State Swim and Dive Championships at Barlett High School, but, he is still a winner.
The senior from Unalaska qualified for the tournament for the second straight year. Both times, he has been the school's lone representative and the first to qualify for state in roughly 20 years.
"It's kind of nice to represent Unalaska, and show that even though we're a small island, we don't have many people, that we still have talented people in Unalaska that we can come and represent our city," Nguyen said.
He took up swimming six years ago and has only swum competitively for the last three.
