Alaska State Troopers have arrested a man they say tried to kill another man found severely wounded Friday night on a Fairbanks road.

Christopher Turco, 38, is charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault in the case, according to an online dispatch posted Saturday. Troopers were first informed of the attack just after 7:15 p.m. Friday.

“[Troopers] received a 911 call regarding a man lying in the middle of Old Airport Road with a life-threatening injury to his neck,” troopers wrote.

The dispatch didn’t include details on when, where and how the victim was wounded, or what evidence or testimony led investigators to Turco.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the case.
