As we go into November, the weather gets colder, but there's still plenty of hot events around Anchorage. Phil Crawford with 907 Life stopped by to tell us his top three picks for the month.

UAA Men's Basketball: The men's basketball team is ready to hit the court again. Their first home games begin November 10 and 11. According to Crawford, the team went 21-8 last season and has had two seasons with 21+ wins. Tickets are available.

Skinny Raven's Turkey Trot: This all-ages run is kicking off right before Thanksgiving on November 23, and features a 5K and 3K race. Costumes are encouraged, you can register at skinnyraven.com/turkey-trot. Last year participants donated 1,158 pounds of food and $7500, the goal for this year is 1,500 pounds of food.

Shop Small Saturday: Hot on the heels of Black Friday is Shop Small Saturday, it is a yearly event encouraging people to shop local small businesses. Pick a favorite local business and show them some love the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
