Two people are behind bars, accused of possessing and producing counterfeit money.

The case began when an AST Court Services Officer served an eviction notice at a residence in the 700 block of East 11th Street last Thursday. The CSO reported to Anchorage Police seeing counterfeit money lying in plain view.

APD responded and served a search warrant. Counterfeit bills, along with equipment to print the money and drug paraphernalia, were seized at the scene, says Renee Oistad, APD spokesperson.

APD took Natasha Ravariere, 37, and David Dreves, 39, were taken to APD headquarters for questioning and were ultimately charged with first-degree and second-degree forgery, second-degree theft and scheme to defraud. Both suspects had their bond set at $20,000.
