Anchorage Police say they have recovered the car which fatally struck a man on Muldoon Road Saturday evening, closing part of the road for hours.

Police spokeswoman Nora Morse said in a statement that police first received reports of the collision, near Muldoon and East 5th Avenue, at 8:40 p.m.

"One victim, an adult male, was found at the scene and pronounced dead," Morse wrote.

Monday, Morse identified the victim as 49-year-old Brian Dan Ballot.

APD spokesperson Renee Oistad said the car involved was a Dodge Neon. Police have not made any arrests so far, but have identified a person of interest. 

Muldoon was closed between Duben and East 6th Avenues until about 11:15 p.m. as officers conducted an investigation.
