An all-terrain vehicle ad featuring Alaska’s sole U.S. representative, released by a Fairbanks company, is drawing attention for some sexually suggestive moments.

Rep. Don Young appears in “Excited Can-Am Owner,” an advertisement for recreational-equipment seller Compeau’s posted last week on YouTube. The one-minute commercial, which was taken down Friday afternoon, was part of an “old boys” line of ads posted on general manager Craig Compeau’s YouTube channel.

“I love my Can-Am: lots of power and great in the mud,” Rahoi says in the ad. “My Can-Am Defender will go anywhere – I ride it like I stole it.”

“Listen, have you ever seen him so excited?” Fate asks, as the camera cuts to a shot of Rahoi’s hot dog suddenly upturned on its stick.

“I have not,” Everts replies.

After the men share a laugh, Young walks up in a cameo role to ask, “You guys seen a little bottle of blue pills?”

The men say no and Young wanders off, just before Rahoi says, “Time to go pitch the tent.”

An unidentified man climbs into the tent, before a fur-clad woman sticks her head out of its flap and zips it shut.

Reached for comment Friday, Compeau said Young knew the other men and was present when the video was being shot. He agreed to appear as a last-minute stunt, and wasn’t compensated for his appearance.

Young’s office didn’t respond to a request for comment on the ad by midday Friday.

Feedback from the ad has been 99 percent “it’s hilarious,” Compeau said, and 1 percent negative. The company was taking down the version featuring Young, which never aired on television, because it was too long and replacing it with a shorter version that doesn’t include him.

Compeau said he expects the revised version to air soon in local markets.
