The owner of an Anchorage bowling arena has been charged with child pornography offenses after investigators say he looked at explicit images while he was at work.

Jewel Lake Bowl owner Ronald Teekell, 52, faces two counts of distributing child porn, according to Acting U.S. Attorney for Alaska Bryan Schroder’s office.

“According to the indictment, in November 2014 and June 2016, Teekell knowingly distributed…visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct,” federal prosecutors wrote. “It is alleged that Teekell used the wireless internet at Jewel Lake Bowl to access child pornography.”

An indictment in the case seeks the forfeiture of three computers allegedly used to view the images if Teekell is convicted.

The investigation that led to the charges against Teekell was jointly conducted by the FBI and Anchorage police. Teekell was arraigned Tuesday, with a detention hearing set for Friday; an online inmate database showed him held at the Anchorage Jail.

Anyone with “further information, questions, or concerns” about Teekell’s activities is asked to call the FBI’s Anchorage office at (907) 276-4441.
