The ASAA division 1 football playoffs kicked off Friday night with two of the top teams in Alaska on the turf.

The number one seed in the Railbelt Conference, Chugiak Mustangs (8-0), played host to the fourth seed in the Cook Inlet Conference, Service Cougars (3-5). In a rematch of last year's quarterfinals, Chugiak came out on top by a 63-27 final.

In the other Friday night matchup, number 2 seed for the Railbelt, Colony Knights (7-1), welcomed the number 3 seed in the CIC, West Anchorage Eagles (4-4). West was able to come from behind and hold onto the lead, topping Colony 14-10.

West will meet the winner of East/Wasilla. Chugiak will see the winner of Bartlett/Lathrop in the ASAA D1 semifinals.
