Moose's Tooth sets record sales for family of Vegas shooting victim
Just when you thought Moose's Tooth couldn't get any busier, it does -- this time, it's all for a good cause.
The popular pizza place saw some record-setting sales Friday evening, as they raised money for the family of an employee whose mother, Dorene Anderson, was killed in the Las Vegas shooting on Sunday.
Moose's Tooth is donating $5 for every pizza sold, and Anchorage didn't disappoint. Customers turned out big time to help.
So far, more than 2,400 pizzas have been sold -- shattering their old record of 2,164 pizzas. Moose's Tooth says it has received so many calls, the phone system crashed for a while.
Customer service manager Megan McBride said it shows how much the community cares.
"You know, I think Dorene was the highlight of everybody's life," she said. "Just like her daughter, she was a bastion of cheerfulness. And I think the turnout tonight represents just how many people and how many lives she touched."
Moose's Tooth said they expect to run out of dough, so anyone who wants to contribute Friday, better act fast.
