The final group of Alaska's Arctic Warriors will be leaving for Afghanistan this week.

Members of the 4/25 Airborne Brigade Combat Team have been departing in groups for the last few weeks. Once the last group goes, 2100 Alaska soldiers will be in the combat zone.

On Friday, the members of the 4/25 already in Afghanistan took part in a ceremony at Operating Base Fenty. It signified they officially took responsibility for the region from the unit there before them.

The soldiers will be in Afghanistan for nine months, working to train and advise Afghan Security Forces.
