Woman who crashed into ditch had BAC 3x legal limit: APD
A 35-year-old woman is in custody after she drove into a ditch and had a blood alcohol content of more than three-and-a-half times the legal limit.
Around 2:36 a.m., Jamie Clark was speeding northbound on Boniface near the Glenn Highway overpass in a 1997 Ford F-150, according to APD spokesperson MJ Thim. Officers with the Impaired Driving Enforcement Unit saw the truck lose control, spin sideways into a ditch where she corrected and continued on to the inbound lane of the Glenn Highway.
Officers followed her as she took the Bragaw exit and safely pulled her over into a parking lot off of Penland Parkway.
"They conducted a field sobriety test but the driver was unable to complete the test due to her inebriated condition," Thim said.
Clark was arrested and taken to the Anchorage Jail where she had a blood alcohol content of 0.295.
According to CourtView, she pleaded no-contest to an operating over the influence (OUI) charge in September 2012.
Clark faces charges of operating under the influence and driving with a license suspended, canceled or revoked.
